I heard a meditator once say that maybe it might had added more net value to the world had he spent his life training as a Navy Seal.
Which was interesting to hear from someone who’s dedicated his life to understanding the human mind.
Still, that’s not what he chose.
It made me realize that we get to decide what we want to spend our time doing while we’re here, kinda despite what that time ends up contributing to the world overall.
How many mediocre painters out there would have been brilliant neurosurgeons?
How many mediocre doctors would have been brilliant musicians?
But maybe at what personal cost? Just because you’re great at something doesn’t always mean you’re happy.
